A natural source of salicylic acid, the active ingredient in aspirin, meadowsweet’s tannins and other ingredients act to protect the lining of the stomach and intestines against ulceration.

It acts to reduce acidity in the stomach which in turn helps reduce acidity levels in the rest of the body.

Meadowsweet’s salicylic acid content makes it an unsuitable herb for people and animals who are intolerant of aspirin.
