Although the celery plant is a useful food for rabbits, guinea pigs and chinchillas, the seeds are more commonly used medicinally as they are much stronger. However the stems also have a diuretic effect.
The seeds are used for rheumatic pain, through reducing acidity in the body as a whole and detoxifying the blood.
Constituents: Volatile oil, courmarins, flavanoids
Actions: Diuretic, anti-rheumatic, carmitive, antispasmodic, urinary antiseptic, lowers blood pressure.
