Description
Mature legume forages have high levels of calcium and a high Ca:P ratio but when fed young the legume forages have a better balance between calcium and phosphorous. They will grow in trays for feeding as young forage.
Legume forages help increase the levels of nitrogen in the soil and their roots help break down heavier soils. Rotating legume forages with vegetables or grasses works well.
Wild flowers and herbs prefer poorer soil so plant legume forages after the herb or wild flower crop.
